Learning Collider’s mission is to help technology platforms like ours build, evaluate, and scale fair technology to maximize social impact and business objectives. To date, AffordableHousing.com and Learning Collider have collaborated on multiple innovations and projects:
Developed a Section 8 voucher waitlist simulator to reduce bias and optimize impact (partner: MassNAHRO).
Tested and scaled a screening algorithm and application decision system that reduce discrimination in application variables such as conviction/arrest background, race, ethnicity, and age.
Improved the rent reasonableness process through increased transparency and by preventing manipulation.
Built a housing dashboard to view rental market trends at federal, state, and local levels with AffordableHousing.com’s unique dataset.
Analyzed real-time rental data for accessible units in Chicago to inform Fair Market Rates (additional partner: Chicago Housing Authority).
AffordableHousing.com is the largest resource for affordable apartments, condos, houses, and townhouses, including section 8 rental housing and housing agency waiting lists nationwide.
